"What a wonderful find! Who could have known the day I was "browsing the internet" daydreaming of getting away for a weekend I would have been lucky enough to find such a great place. "The girls" needed to get away - we all four work in a beautliful, but very large and busy downtpwn Seattle hotel. We came up for the weekend, went rafting, hiking, and just relaxed. I think we would all like to stay longer, but "duty calls" and we must head back. This home is absolutely georgeous. Not a detail left undone and we can't wait to come back. Hopefully we will all be a little more "sane" back at work tomorrow due to the wonderful getaway. Thanks for having this place to escape the city." The girls.

A comfortable mountain cabin and hot tub right on the Skykomish River! Grey Fox, romantic for couples, is also excellent for groups of 7. (several sleeping pads and an air mattress provide sleeping for a few more)
Trails down to the river provide surprises along the way:

In summer watch white water rafters float by.
In winter the fog lifting off the roaring river and opening up views of Mt Index and the snow covered peaks in the distance is quite a spectacle.
Expect visits from squirls, deer, and elk all year.
Wild flowers appear around the natural and unmanacured grounds in the spring.
In Fall maples and alder cover the ground with a golden blanket.

Grey Fox is located within walking distance of the small historic town of Index. It is a one-of-a-kind, self contained town that has not changed much since the early 1900s. Surrounded by beautiful, steep, usually snow covered peaks, Index offers incredible views from all parts of town. It is bordered on the North by one of Washington's greatest rock climbing walls, viewable right out your front window. Once you've been here, you can't get this place out of your mind.
