There are great old style community stores in Baring, Index and Skykomish. The Baring Store has a great deli, espresso, chili, and is a fun experience as the local community parades by to pick up their mail at the post office in back. There is fine dining and lounge in Index at the Bush House, good burgers at the Index Cafe and the hotels in Skykomish.
